Yeah I too heard that they see to that the site is new or old and to post ads about the site in Google,Google expects the site to be at least 6 months old.

Yeah they see age of the site but not alone it.A friend of mine got indexed in Google within 1 month time he opened the site.You must have a good description and site must be attractive so that Google will not take into account the age of the site much.

Age of site is very important as they would have got more traffic and users in the time that Google has given them as a point to reach and so it is considered much.
