Is Alexa rank important and how long does it take to get a page rank?

Shouldn't take too long to get some page rank - work on your sites content make sure it's unique and adds value to your sites visitors try to get some quality links back to your site.

It is nice to have a good Alexa ranking, but it is not the end-all-be-all to measure traffic to your site. Alexa ranking is based on the number of people who go to your site who have the Alexa toolbar installed on their computer. This heavily favors webmasters and people already concerned with website statistical data. I have heard of cases when a site's Alexa ranking jumped significantly, yet the website's reporting tools reflected no such jump in traffic.

In terms of how long it takes to get a decent Alexa ranking, it all depends. Some sites get it in a few months, some never do.

No Alexa rank is not important and is completely meaningless.

This is because it is so easy to manipulate. There are even sites offering services to boost Alexa ranking for a small fee and this is often done by unscrupulous individuals before putting a website up for sale. Unfortunately this does not stop people believing the Alexa stats.
