Backlinks from "link" pages

Postby nriddle » Sat Jan 16, 2010 10:47 am

We have a site phuketrenthouse.com with PR6, where the high PR currently doesnt seem to provide us many actual benefits in terms of true search rank. Discussed here:

I am now working on some link exchange with some related sites and some questions are popping into my mind -> Many related sites have a "link" page, which are stripped naked of PR. For example their root page may have PR4, while their links page has PR0/1. I am wondering what kinda value it is of having a link to us on such a page, especially if it is filled with many other links? Originally, I would think it has little or no value - But because pagerank doesnt seem to have such a huge impact in our case, I am wondering if its just good to have incoming links nevertheless even from low PR pages, as long as they are strongly related?

Google works in mysterious ways of course ...
