Is black hat SEO considered bad?

Hello All,

I am new to this Search Engine Optimization. I read an article about the Black hat and the white hat Search engine optimization techniques. I couldn’t understand the details much as it was more into technical details which I am not familiar with. My doubt is whether Black hat SEO means practicing false means to boost up your website. Is this true?

As then name "black hat" means bad techniques, so it is not beneficial for the society and internet users thats why it is treated bad.

I guess black is a relative term - some think posting a link on your other website to the one you just created is already black.
There's white (build a website ad wait for visitors to link to you), black (invsible text/links, spamming blogs/forums vith "buy v!agra" etc) and a LOT of gray in between. Most SEO is gray-ish.

Black hat SEO attempts to improve rankings in ways that are disapproved of by the search engines, or involve deception.
at somehow and at some place it is bad techniques. and if we talk through the point of google black hat is bad techniques.

It is not consider as bad or good ...it is the tecquines used buy SEO to bluff search engine and to bring site in top ranking ...
