I posted this thread on the Seoforums.org forum and got no response. I decided to post it here:
I'm currently performing keyword research for the website Placecards.com. As the name suggests, they print Place Cards and Table Cards.
I'm facing some slight challenges with competition. All of the transactional search queries I've encountered have extremely high competition rates. Using Google Adwords and Google Insights, I've been unable to find low-competition and/or long-tail keywords.
While queries such as "place card etiquette" have little competition, transactional queries such as "Wedding Place Cards", "Place Cards", "Order Place Cards", "Wedding Name Cards", and combinations of these terms all yield extreme amounts of competition.
With a pagerank of 2 (I will be doing minimal link building aside from submitting their website to Joeant, DMOZ, and possibly several other directories), there is little opportunity for them to compete in such queries. Their only real advantage they have is utilizing the term "Place cards" in their domain name.
I was sincerely hoping someone could help me to find more appropriate keywords with lower competition rates, or offer me advice as to how I can go about doing so myself.
Thanks in advance.
