Directories And PR

Postby TheZ » Fri Dec 18, 2009 9:54 pm

I've been told by hundreds of people that adding your site to a directory can be bad for your pr. I honestly don't know whether I should be believe it or not. I add almost all my sites to directories and my pr is usually fine so I was wondering what everyone elses experience(s) were.

A toal myth in all honesty heres a little on directories.

Directories

Directories are a great way to step up to become more powerful than your competitors. A directory is a site that almost looks like a classified ads site for just websites in order of categories. There are many types of them, some are free, and some cost money. Most webmasters only look for free one's though. Submitting your site to a directory takes not more than 30 seconds and its helps with pr and getting links out there. Many site owners don't bother to waste the time to submit to a lot, but I recommend submitting to thousands. The results don't occur quick, but coming to a couple of months your site will really boost in traffic, pr, and value.

There are plenty of sites that show lists of free directories.

Doing a google search will help you find more, but be careful not to submit to too many on a new site. Do under 1000 directories in the first month or google will penalize your site
