Directory Info

Postby SeOX » Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:14 pm

I used this info in another post but thought It would be useful if people could find it better.

Directories

Directories are a great way to step up to become more powerful than your competitors. A directory is a site that almost looks like a classified ads site for just websites in order of categories. There are many types of them, some are free, and some cost money. Most webmasters only look for free one's though. Submitting your site to a directory takes not more than 30 seconds and its helps with pr and getting links out there. Many site owners don't bother to waste the time to submit to a lot, but I recommend submitting to thousands. The results don't occur quick, but coming to a couple of months your site will really boost in traffic, pr, and value.

There are plenty of sites that show lists of free directories.

Doing a google search will help you find more, but be careful not to submit to too many on a new site. Do under 1000 directories in the first month or google will penalize your site

Thank you very very much for the directory info! I've never known what to do when it comes to directories and seo.
