I want to know that PR really matters or not because I've seen the website which is top for one keyword and 700th position for another keyword. What's the mystery behind PR I can't understand. Request your explanation …

Yup page rank is important ..i got what you are talking about ...the key words which you are searching might not be the keywords of the good page rank site and it is keyword of low page rank site and that site can be considerably new that is why you find low page rank site in top ranking..just check the ranking of the keywords from title of the of high page rank site you will find almost all of them in top 30.

Pagerank is one of the factors which count for the listing in the SERP. How ever, a high PR doesn't mean your are listed #1 on the SERP. There are lots of sites which have a lower pagerank as their competitors how ever they outrank them in the SERP.
