My google toolbar is not working. All the buttons work but t

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the toolbar but that doesn't work. When I click on on the google icon on the toolbar it's self it takes me to google but if I try to search with the tool bar nothing happens. Please understand that the search engine works if I'm on google it's just the search engine on my toolbar that doesn't work. Please help!!
