Google Toolbar replace

Google Toolbar 5.0 Firefox 3.5 drag and drop of items causes insert rather than replace
Used to be you could drag and drop things into Google toolbar and it would do a replace on whatever was in there already. In Firefox 3.5, it no longer works that method, and instead inserts what you are dragging into what is already there without first removing the old stuff. Anyone know if there is a setting to get the old way back?
How do I fix this problem?
