High Positions - No traffic!

Postby irahat » Sat Sep 05, 2009 10:25 am

Hi, I know Yahoo may not be around much longer but I've got numerous 1st page listing, 'life insurance', 'over 50 life insurance', 'income protection', etc. for my site http://www.yorkshirelifeinsurance.co.uk. These positions used to get me lots of traffic on yahoo PPC, MSN and google but yet yahoo optimised gets about 2 clicks per day!!

I don't understand, has Yahoo really lost all its visitors or do I have a problem?

Would appreciate some views?

was actually wondering the same thing, as I have some good rankings on competative keywords in yahoo.com but am receiving little or no traffic from them.

I understand that yahoo only represents 5-10% of the search traffic...but if you consider that the same keywords have the following search volume (taken from the google tool and i will specify exactly)

Local Search Volume: 673,000 (broad)
Local Search Volume: 673,000 (Phrase)
Local Search Volume: 27,100 (exact)

It would be expected that 5-10% of these phrases should still return some good results?

Perhaps your title tags and description/snippet are only optimized for rankings, not click-throughs - it can be a delicate balance.
