How can I access a gmail account without my IP address ?

I need too get into my friends gmail account. I have his password and username, which he gave me, but I want to get into it without him knowing. He checks the thing at the bottom that says if a different IP has accessed his email account all the time, so I was wondering if there was a way to get on it without my address showing up? Thanks
