How can I erase all previously searched terms from Google on

How can I erase all previously searched terms from Google on

When I'm using Firefox on my Macbook, and I begin typing a word in the search field on Google, all my previously searched words that begin with the same letter appear in a list below the Google search field. How can I prevent this from happening?Thank you
