How does Google PageRank work? Why do I have PR 0?

Postby TumbleTim » Thu Aug 20, 2009 6:39 pm

I put up a new web site last weekend. I know it's not as flashy as most sites, but it's my own work and I thought it was okay. I clicked on"submit url"to google and yahoo so it could be included in their searches.I checked the Google Page Rank of my site. It has a PR of zero. According to what I've read, this is not really normal. Most sites with ANY content should have a 3 or better. (Am I right or did I misinterpret?)Anyway, what can I do to improve my PR? Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

I've never heard that when a starting a site, you will have PR3?
When you start you have nothing, despite if your site is really cool, flashing etc..
You must seo your site, build links, promote with videos, articles, blogs..etc.
