How Many Search engine Exists over internet ?

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a list of search engines. I was wondering how many Search Engines Actually exist over the internet. I have read so many articles and also on blog that there are more then 2000 search engines and SEO company will submit for you. I don’t think that’s true. I have search over internet and found so many address containing search engine List. But of all these, how many are really worth applying my website to.
