How is Yahoo's search technology different from Google's search technology?

Google isn't as picky. I get many many many more results using google.

yahoo has its own search technology and it's very good. yahoo is strong in a lot of vertical search as it provides many services such as shopping, auto, and travel etc.

you can visit http://next.yahoo.com/ for some cool search services such as Y!Q Beta, instant search, and Yahoo! Mindset Beta.

yahoo have its own algorithm to follow and Google mange and follows its own. Google algorithm is more active i guess as it keeps on changing after every sometime.
