New google service

Postby derek88 » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:05 pm

Google has just lauched an url shortener named goo.gl.
It takes long URLs and squeezes them into fewer characters to make a link that is easier to share, tweet, or email to friends.

It is a service like tinyurl or something like that? I see no reason for using it.

Whats the actual purpose of shrinking your url? I honestly don't get the point and therefore wouldn't use it anyways, unless someone could explain its importance to me.
