Hi,

I am starting a new business up that is in the dating industry selling dating toys. And I am wanting to know the best way of getting my site out there as I know there is such big competition.

Has anyone got any suggestions who to talk to or what to do. As i have been quoted high amounts from a company to do a years SEO for me.

Your industry is very hard to get into... (no pun intended). Basically you should get a list of companies which have been advised to you and get references, go in for chats and see who you feel is reliable and you like. You can always tell us here of any apprehensions you have with comments they have said and we can let you know if they are truth or crap etc.

I would suggest you stick around here for a while, learn all you can, and then solicit a handful of proposals from qualified SEOs willing to work in your industry. I would not sign anything long term. In my opinion you need to reserve the right to pay, or fire your SEO person on a month to month basis.

Do not let anyone tell you there are any shortcuts, secrets or automated solutions to getting you good ranks. Do not look twice at anything that seems too good to be true.

Outsource your project, hire freelancers/marketers, maybe you can also use a SEO software to do it so.

Use viral marketing, social media like myspace adds...it is kind of expensive, but can reach thousands of persons on a specific area.
