PPC vs CPC

I'm newbie in PPC, thoroughly I've read Google adwords guidelines and method to use adwords services but still confused on whats the main difference between PPC and CPC ??? If PPC is like a tree and CPC and all other terms are just like his branches??? Please let me know.
