Problem with my page loading

Hello all,

I'm having a problem. At timesmy pages load very slow. Normally very slow during day times.
Unfortunately, the worst loading pages are my checkout. Sometimes is slows down to a crawl. They are lite coded pages with minimal or no images. I have the site basically finished but have not had any traffic yet as i have not even started any seo. What will happen when i actually do get traffic? I asked my server team if they can move me to another server but they said they don't do that unless my site is constantly going down.what to do?

Any Suggestions are welcome!!
