Question about flash on my site

Hello all, i have recently been having troubles with the main page of my e-commerce site loading too slow. I have 2 sections of flash on it. Will it load up quicker if i have the flash off by default and have an option of playing it if desired? Similar to a you tube video set up with a play button in center? Will this make any difference at all or no? if not, i will be removing the flash all together. Thanks in advance

Yes, using flash and images would slow down you websites so try using as minimum as it is possible.
