Way to know if your url is on google's index

Being indexed by google is important, there is a quick way to know if you are indexed:
Just type on to a google search:
site:yoursite.com

This is a simple way to know if your site in on google index. Are there another ways to know if you are indexed?

Thanks for the tip, but now say we do it and it isn't indexed by Google whats the best way to index it? I've heard stories of people not being indexed for months is there a way to speed up the process as well?

if you want to know on which date and day you are indexed then type cache:domain.com in google search...
