What am I doing wrong with my websites SEO?

Hi there,5 months ago I set up a new website: www.royalnannies.co.uk , I read a lot about SEO, how to choose keywords, metatags, not to spam... get reciprocal links etc...I have done my best, however im still not receiving the results i was hoping for.I managed to get my page rank from 0 to 3... but that didnt seem to have any efect on my positioning under certain keywords...There is so many sites above me which have less links and lower page rank.. I dont get it.
