Meta Tags describe your website. Use key-phrases and Key words to give an accurate description of your website. Meta tag helps crawler suggest about the category/topic/theme of your website. So that you can appear on specific keywords on search results.

Meta-tags are information inserted at the head of your webpage. It can tell a browser what "character set" to use or whether a web page has self-rated itself in terms of dating content.
The meta description tag and the meta keywords tag are not seen by users. Instead, these tags main purpose is providing meta document data to user agents, such as search engines.
