What is SEO and how does it relate to a regular persons life?

It does NOTHING to a regular person. :)

It relates to websites. how webmasters configurate their website for search engines to value.
the high value it has, the high chance for that website to appear on the first page when someone does a search, such as google search.

SEO stands for search engine optimization.

It is of relevance to people who have websites and want the website to appear high in the search engines e.g google or yahoo for relevant search queries

It's like this too. Write your own articles on your Blog, i know some who writes 20 articles per day, and there SE traffic has increased huge.

SEO means search engine optimization. You provide different techniques and methods to be able to have a high rank on your site. It can be link building, article writing and posting just to name a few.

How does it relate to a regular person's life??? Well if you want to really succeed and be on the top pages be ready to be dedicated and loose a bit of your social life... As you need a huge amount of time spending in front of the pc, unless you want to hire someone to do the work for you.
