Yahoo Directory - The Spark

Just wondering if anyone knows the deal with "The Spark" on Yahoo's directory?

To me it just looks like random and useless posts on a blog that drops loads of links to websites. I could not find any real use of this directory. I sthere someone who can provide a valid use of this so called @Spark@
